Made for chanters
Tap a note
The ison starts at once and holds until you tap the note again. Tap another note and it moves there.
Scale and sound
Choose the scale of the mode you are chanting, and how it sounds: a pure oscillator or recorded samples.
Match the choir
Move the pitch by a single moria, or by six (a semitone), until the ison sits right under the choir.
Phone or tablet
The layout fits any screen, in English, Greek, German, Spanish, Romanian, Bulgarian and Russian.
Your chant books, beside the ison
The Reader opens your PDF books right under the player, and your library syncs across your devices.
- Bookmarks, favourites and your recent books
- Paper-toned or dark pages, easy on the eyes in a dim church
- Your books by their covers, with search by title

iPhone & iPad Coming soon
We're preparing the version for iPhone and iPad. Until it arrives, Isokratis is available on Android.
About me
I'm Konstantinos Chafis, a chanter at the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Acharnes, Greece, and a student at the School of Byzantine and Traditional Music of Metamorfosi, whose website I also made. I graduated in Informatics and Telematics from Harokopio University.
I built Isokratis because I wanted an ison and a book reader that work as one, in a single app. No other app offers both, at the quality and completeness I'm aiming for.
